About Mētis Research

Mētis Research is an independent research practice covering European, US and Greek listed equities. It applies the valuation methodology of an institutional equity desk — intrinsic valuation, disclosed assumptions, and fully-linked models — and publishes the work openly.

The name

In Greek mythology, Mētis (Μῆτις) was an Oceanid and the Titaness of wisdom, prudence and cunning — Zeus's first wife and closest counsel, said to know more than all gods and mortals. The Greek word mḗtis names a distinctive kind of intelligence: practical, resourceful wisdom — the ability to read a situation and combine sound judgment with skill to act well under uncertainty. That is the intent of the firm: research that pairs analytical rigour with judgment, not one without the other.

Methodology

Every initiation is built the same way. We reconstruct the financials from primary filings, project five to ten years of revenue, margins, capex and working capital, and discount the resulting free cash flow at a cost of capital derived from a CAPM build — cost of equity from a beta regression against the relevant benchmark (STOXX 600 for European names, the S&P 500 for US names), an after-tax cost of debt, and market-value weights. The intrinsic value is cross-checked against trading comparables and stress-tested with two-way sensitivity tables.

The analytics are reproducible. A Python toolkit pulls the data, runs the regression and the forecast, builds the comps, and renders every exhibit from a single per-company configuration file — the same file that drives this website and the report. Nothing is hard-coded in silence; all drivers and multiples are stated in each report's appendix.
